Strawberry Oatmeal Bars Recipe

No matter how old your kid is they probably love strawberries. Strawberry Oatmeal Bars can be made ahead and packed in lunches or eaten as an after school snack. I, as a bigger kid, eat them for breakfast on the go. This is one of those recipes you feel good about giving your kids and they will love eating. Sometimes you need to send snacks with your child to assure they get something they love to eat and is healthy for them as well. These Strawberry Oatmeal Bars will quickly become one of their favorite recipes.

Strawberry Oatmeal Bars Recipe

Sometimes getting kids to sit down for a meal is hard. There are also those times when you are not there to assure they eat right. for those times, this great Strawberry Oatmeal Bars Recipe can help your peace of mind. Did you know that you can buy seedless strawberry jam by Smuckers? If you are sharing these in a house with people who have a problem with seeds, this is a great alternative.

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. rolled oats
  • ½ c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/3 c. light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • ¾ c. strawberry jam

Directions:

  1. First, preheat your oven to 350° Fahrenheit
  2. Next, in a large bowl, mix everything together except the strawberry jam.
  3. Now, measure out 2 cups of this mixture.
  4. Leave the rest in the bowl, and set it aside.
  5. Take the 2 cups of the mixture and press it into the bottom of the pan.
  6. You can use your hands or a spoon.
  7. Make sure you cover the entire bottom of the pan!
  8. Using a large spoon, spread the strawberry jam on top of the mixture in the pan.
  9. Spread it evenly all over.
  10. Take the mixture that was left in the bowl, and spread it over the strawberry jam.
  11. Press it down lightly.
  12. Bake for 25 minutes.
  13. Remove the pan from the oven
  14. Allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes.
  15. Cut the bars into 12 squares to eat and share!
