  • 1 pound processed American cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 pound fresh, ground spicy pork sausage
  • 1 (12 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles


  1. Place processed cheese spread in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave on high in 2 minute increments (stirring at each pause) until the cheese spread is melted.
  3. While the processed cheese spread is melting, brown sausage in a small skillet. Drain well.
  4. Place broccoli in a microwave-safe bowl, cover, and microwave on high for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted cheese, sausage, broccoli, and diced tomatoes.
  6. Stir well before serving.

If you want to have a real authentic Mexican cheese dip to serve at your party, you want to use the slow cooker recipe and your favorite salsa.  By combining your favorite salsa with a break of Velveeta cheese and a can of chili in the slow cooker, you can make an authentic Mexican cheese dip to serve with tortilla chips as part of a party appetizer.
