Kid Friendly Healthy Snacks

Are you looking for something to serve your kids after school to tide them over until dinner? Why not try a few of these time saving inexpensive snacks. Are you trying to get more veggies into your kids?

This simple yet tasty snack is perfect. All you have to do is rinse and cut up your kid’s favorite’s vegetables like, carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower. Just serve with a sour cream and chive dipping sauce, season with salt and pepper to taste.

Try a mini-fruit salad; just slice up some of your kids favorite fruits. For instance, fresh strawberries, sliced apples, watermelon, oranges, peaches, or grapes are perfect for this healthy and easy appetizer recipe. Just toss in a plain yogurt, honey and mint dressing.

If your kids prefer a meatier snack try some meat and cheese rolls. Just spread a little garlic mayo on a tortilla and fill with their favorite meat like turkey, chicken, ham or roast beef. Then just put in some veggies like lettuce, spinach, tomato or cucumber, roll then slice into one and a half pieces.

Just grab a few tortilla chips and stack them up and slice them into triangles. Just bake them in the oven until crispy, let cool and serve with a few dips. Dips are so easy to make at home, all you need is a few simple ingredients.

You can make a fresh and flavorful salsa, a zesty vibrant guacamole, or a hearty and garlicky black bean dip.

  • 3 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sliced honey-roasted almonds
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar

Almond Strawberry Salad Directions

  1. In a large size bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds together lightly.
  2. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the vinegar, honey and sugar; shake very well.
  3. Drizzle over salad and toss to coat.
  4. Serve healthy salad immediately.
