Kid Approved Meatloaf Recipe

Are you looking for a true Kid Approved Meatloaf Recipe? What’s not to love about a huge burger with all the flavors? Meatloaf is a great way to enjoy ground beef or even ground turkey or pork. Meatloaf is one of those meals that kids and adults both enjoy. I love onions in my meatloaf, some only like onion flavor. There are so many variations you can try that meatloaf should be a food group unto itself.  Try adding a little bacon on top to make it just that much better. This easy recipe is not only a Kid Approved Meatloaf Recipe, but family approved too!

Kid Approved Meatloaf Recipe

Good meatloaf can now become great meatloaf with this recipe. My family loves meatloaf and sometimes getting kids to eat new things is a chore. This meatloaf is so delicious it should have the Kid Approved stamp right on it.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy wheat cereal squares
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and mix well.
  2. Remove 4 tablespoons of this mixture and reserve for later for the top of the loaves. To the mixture in the bowl, add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion, garlic, egg, milk and ground black pepper and mix together well.
  3. Stir in the wheat cereal squares and let stand for 5 minutes.
  4. Then break up the cereal squares and add the ground beef, mixing well.
  5. Shape the mixture into the mini loaf pans you’ve decided to use.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 65 minutes.
  7. Brush on reserved ketchup mixture and bake for 15 more minutes.
