Make sure you have a good stock of different kinds of buns – some people like the small fluffy ones, some people like onion hamburger buns, and some people like the thin whole-grain ones. Then, make sure you have a good stock of condiments for people to put on their homemade hamburger recipe – catchup is a must and so is mustard.

Besides catchup and mustard you will also want to have onions, lettuce, peppers, mayonnaise, relish, and anything else you can think of. Some people even like guacamole on their burgers. I know kids who like to crush up their chips and their french fries and put them on their burgers. Like I said, burger preferences are a very individual thing.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs

  • 3 tablespoons evaporated milk

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Preheat grill for high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, evaporated milk, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, and garlic using your hands. Form the mixture into 8 hamburger patties.
  3. Lightly oil the grill grate. Grill patties 5 minutes per side, or until well done.
