Do You Love Chocolate?
I love the taste and texture of an ooey-gooey Mississippi Mud Cake. It takes me back to a time when my mom would make them for us as kids.
The richness and warmth was unbeatable!
I found a recipe that is a lot faster than the one my mother used to spend all morning mixing and baking. It’s still just as gooey and delicious!
1 box of brownie mix – prepared as directed on box
~ I use Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie Mix. Be sure to read the directions, some call for egg and oil to be added.
1 medium or large bag of mini marshmallows
~ If you really love lots of marshmallows get the large bag.
1 Tub of Chocolate Frosting.
~ I use the dark chocolate Betty Crocker brand.
Many times, you will find that you can make this wonderful dessert for free or nearly free!
You can usually find a coupon for the Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie Mix and the Betty Crocker Frosting Tub at Coupons.com.
Baking Pans for the Perfect Mississippi Mud Cake
Adding the Marshmallow Topping
After baking the brownies per the instructions on the box, while they are still hot, pour a layer of marshmallows over them, covering the entire pan of brownies. Some will melt and spread over the brownies, some will sit on top and keep their shape.
Love the Crunchy Corners?
Are you one of those people who likes to have the crunchy side or corner of a brownie? These pans will allow you to have your wish no matter where you cut the brownie from!
Adding the Frosting
Make sure there is no aluminum seal on the inside of the frosting tub and place it in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds. Stir and heat again if necessary to make it into a pourable state.
Then pour the heated frosting all over the top of the marshmallows.
Smells wonderful, doesn’t it? Keep your fingers, forks, and spoons out of it until it has had a few minutes to cool and then dig in!
